Unconstructed vs constructed
When we think about tailoring, we don’t start with tradition, we start with how it should feel to wear.
Structured tailoring has its place. It’s built to create a defined shape, with padding and construction that holds everything in position. It looks sharp, but it can also feel quite formal, sometimes even a bit distant from everyday use.
We’re more interested in something that feels natural from the moment you put it on. That’s why we work with unconstructed jackets. By removing heavy construction, the garment becomes lighter, softer, and easier to wear. It follows the body instead of shaping it into something else.
There’s a long tradition of this way of making jackets, especially in parts of Italy where tailoring became more relaxed over time. But we’re not trying to recreate Italian tailoring. For us, it’s not about a specific look, it’s about the feeling. The ease, the movement, the comfort.
Visually, we keep things more modern and minimal. Cleaner lines, less emphasis on details that stand out, and more focus on proportions that just feel right. It’s about creating something that looks refined, but never overdone.
What we like about this approach is how it changes the way you use the garment. It doesn’t feel reserved for certain occasions. You can wear it during the day, in more relaxed settings, or dress it up when needed, and it still feels like the same piece.
That’s really the idea for us. Clothes that don’t try too hard, but still feel considered. Where construction isn’t removed completely, but softened to a point where it feels natural.
In the end, it’s not about choosing between constructed or unconstructed. It’s about finding a balance that feels right to wear, every day.
